Network Engineer
Senior Network Engineer (Contract) π South Coast, UK (Predominantly On-Site) π Initial 3β6 Month Contract π Full UK Driving Licence Required
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a dynamic Networks Team, supporting and enhancing a large-scale enterprise network environment across multiple sites. This is a hands-on technical role requiring a highly capable networking professional who can work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to the ongoing development of critical network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the installation of new structured cabling, including WAN and distribution connections, as well as client device, BMS, IoT, and wireless access point connectivity. Install, configure, and support enterprise networking equipment and services. Maintain and uphold technical standards across all network services. Plan, recommend, and implement infrastructure improvements to enhance performance, scalability, resilience, and security. Act as an escalation point for complex network incidents and service issues. Monitor network performance and proactively respond to faults, errors, and capacity concerns. Support information security and compliance initiatives, including evidence gathering for security reviews and audits. Contribute to the maintenance of network documentation and operational procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience
Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience gained within enterprise IT environments. Proven experience supporting and managing complex enterprise network infrastructures. Strong knowledge of Juniper networking technologies, including relevant Juniper certifications. Hands-on experience with Juniper MIST wireless networking solutions. Experience managing enterprise-grade network security platforms, particularly Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls. Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions in a complex environment.

Desirable Skills
Knowledge of ISO 27001 information security standards. Understanding of ITIL v4/v5 service management principles and best practices. Location & Travel
This role is primarily based on-site across locations in Brighton and Worthing, with occasional travel to additional sites including Haywards Heath, Chichester, and Farnborough. A full UK driving licence is therefore essential.
