About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with expertise in Wi-Fi solutions to join our dynamic team within DWP Digital. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design, deployment, and management of large-scale Wi-Fi networks across multiple sites, supporting thousands of users and ensuring seamless connectivity and security. You will collaborate closely with architecture and engineering teams to develop infrastructure services aligned with best practices and innovative standards. Your technical leadership will be instrumental in maintaining high-performance wireless environments, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing improvements. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical infrastructure that impacts millions of UK citizens daily, using your expertise to shape the future of government digital services.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in designing and managing large-scale Wi-Fi networks, particularly in senior or lead roles. Proven hands-on experience with wireless products such as access points, controllers, and management platforms like Aruba Central or ClearPass is essential. Relevant certifications such as Aruba ACMP or Cisco CCNP Wireless are highly desirable. A solid understanding of general networking principles, including:

Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach are necessary to work effectively with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Responsibilities
As a Senior Network Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design and implementation of high-performing Wi-Fi solutions using HPE Aruba technology across multiple sites
- Monitoring network performance continuously
- Fine-tuning configurations
- Ensuring robust security measures are in place
- Troubleshooting and resolving wireless network issues promptly to minimize business disruption
- Acting as the subject matter expert on Wi-Fi, providing guidance and sharing best practices with team members and stakeholders
- Collaborating with network teams, architects, and business units to support infrastructure improvements and technology upgrades
- Contributing to setting technical standards
- Mentoring junior engineers
- Supporting the department’s strategic objectives in digital transformation initiatives
