Network Engineer DP World UK (Southampton Port)

Role Overviews

We are seeking a hands-on IT Network Engineer to join our dynamic team in Southampton. Reporting to the Network Manager, you will:

  • Conduct internal analyses of network performance and traffic analysis
  • Lead projects to improve network efficiency across DP World

Key Responsibilities

The network engineer will:

  • Monitor and resolve network support issues as per IT procedures
  • Maintain and troubleshoot onsite network hardware and software
  • Implement network changes following change control and security policies
  • Manage clustered high-availability solutions across two sites
  • Oversee Data Centres and Virtual Environments
  • Monitor site-wide network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, and Wireless LAN connections)
  • Monitor communication systems; ensure familiarity with DR procedures
  • Provide service desk support; update network documentation
  • Take on additional projects as defined by the Infrastructure Manager

Key Requirements and Skills

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A degree or equivalent in relevant fields (minimum requirement)
  • CCNA or higher certification (or equivalent qualification)
  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts
  • Enterprise Cisco network experience (especially in large commercial/industrial environments)
  • Strong Cisco and Nexus knowledge, including:
    • Layer 2/3 switching
    • Firewalls (e.g., Checkpoint)
    • Wireless technologies (Cisco access points, ISE, and Cisco controllers)
  • Experience with Cisco UCS Virtualisation
  • Proficiency in: CISCO ISE, IPSEC VPNs, F5 Load Balancers
  • Ability to operate under pressure with quick incident response
  • Strong IT and teamwork skills with proven communication abilities
