Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to provide advanced Level 3 (L3) network support and troubleshooting across the organisation's network infrastructure. The primary objective of this role is to ensure Business-as-Usual (BAU) network services remain stable and fully supported, allowing the Cloud Migration team to focus on the successful delivery of a critical cloud transformation programme.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex network issues, maintaining operational stability, and acting as the technical escalation point for network-related incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert Level 3 network support across enterprise network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents and technical issues.
- Act as the escalation point for network-related problems, ensuring timely resolution.
- Support and maintain BAU network services with minimal disruption.
- Ensure cloud migration resources can focus on programme delivery by owning BAU network support activities.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes where appropriate.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security and platform engineering teams.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, weekly team meetings and operational governance activities.
- Support additional infrastructure tasks as workload demands to maximise resource utilisation.

Key Deliverables
- Maintain stable and resilient BAU network services.
- Resolve Level 3 network incidents within agreed service levels.
- Minimise operational impact on the Cloud Migration Programme.
- Reduce dependency on cloud migration resources for BAU network support.
- Ensure high-quality operational support through effective troubleshooting and incident resolution.
Success Measures
Success in this role will be measured by:
- High availability and stability of network services.
- Timely resolution of complex network incidents.
- Minimal involvement required from Cloud Migration engineers in BAU activities.
- Positive stakeholder feedback and operational performance.
- Effective collaboration across infrastructure and platform teams.

Required Experience
- Significant experience working as a Senior or 3rd Line Network Engineer.
- Strong background supporting enterprise network environments.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting complex network issues.
- Experience working within Business-as-Usual operational support environments.
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure within regulated or enterprise organisations.
- Proven ability to prioritise multiple incidents and operational demands.

- Experience working alongside infrastructure and platform engineering teams.
