Network Engineer
Network Engineer
Belfast | Hybrid
Our legal client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure Services team. This is a key role, focused on designing, supporting, and securing their network estate, with strong scope for skill development across cloud networking as the role evolves.
You will collaborate closely with infrastructure, development, and security teams to deliver secure, high-availability network solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain core network infrastructure
- Configure and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
- Manage vulnerability remediation, patching, and proactive monitoring
- Ensure adherence to strong security controls aligned with CIS / ISO27001
- Provide 3rd line support and liaise with vendors where needed
- Support cloud networking components, including:
- VNETs
- NSGs (Network Security Groups)
- VPN Gateway
- ExpressRoute
- WAF (Web Application Firewall)
- Azure Front Door
- Application Gateway (training and support provided if new to Azure)

Required Experience
- Several years working in a similar Network Engineering role
- Strong practical knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
- Solid understanding of network security best practices
- Familiarity with Zero Trust principles and SD-WAN technologies
- Experience managing vulnerability and cybersecurity tooling
- Understanding of ITIL processes
