Well known FinTech is seeking a skilled Network Infrastructure Engineer
Well known FinTech is seeking a skilled Network Infrastructure Engineer to support, secure, and evolve a complex hybrid environment spanning on-premise sites and multiple cloud platforms. This is a hands-on, high-impact role combining operational support, project delivery, security enhancement, and infrastructure modernisation.
This role suits a proactive, forward-thinking engineer who enjoys driving improvement, automating workflows, and building a secure, high-performing network landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, maintain, and optimise modern on-premise and cloud LAN, WAN, wireless, and firewall services across physical sites and multiple Microsoft Cloud subscriptions.
- Design, manage, and configure virtual networks across Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud environments.
- Configure and support enterprise WAN technologies, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF/IS-IS), VPNs, IPsec, GRE, QoS, multicast, and Layer 2/3 connectivity.
- Perform hands-on network upgrades, WAN deployments, and migrations—specifically focusing on Palo Alto Firewalls and Cisco Meraki Enterprise networking devices.
- Proactively automate manual, repetitive infrastructure tasks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
- Collaborate with InfoSec teams to manage and implement robust security controls, including ACLs, Cloudflare protection, and DDoS mitigation.
- Maintain and support cloud-first collaboration tools, including Teams Telephony solutions.
- Develop standardised configuration baselines, documentation, policies, and governance processes to allow internal teams to self-serve efficiently.
- Proactively monitor network performance, manage capacity planning, and lead incident resolution end-to-end to prevent recurrence.
- Participate in an on-call rota providing 24/7 support for critical, high-priority incidents, with occasional travel to other office locations for site installs and upgrades.

Skills & Experience:
- Extensive expertise in TCP/IP, subnetting, and managing complex IP-based networks.
- Extensive hands-on experience with modern enterprise networking technologies, specifically Palo Alto Firewalls and Cisco Meraki Enterprise hardware.
- Strong core expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud networking, with broader AWS exposure being advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Consul).
- Familiarity with security tools and edge performance platforms such as Cloudflare.
- Solid understanding of Windows environments (Desktop and Server), DNS, DHCP, virtual server technology, and SAN/NAS storage infrastructure.
- Proven ability to assess risk, define technical policies, and balance competing project priorities pragmatically.

Working on a hybrid model, the team goes on-site 2 days a week in the modern Central London hub. Your colleagues will also be on-site, so there is some meaning, collaboration, and meaning. It will be a 2 stage interview process, which has been designed to be as quick and pain free as possible.
