Job Overview
- Contract hours: 35 hours per week, All Year Round
- Salary: £43,308 – £46,437 (PO1 – PO2 equivalent, 28-33 years’ service cutoff)
- Start date: September 2026
- Annual leave: 28–33 days (including holiday-flexible options)
- Structural Working: Taken primarily during school holidays, up to 2 weeks total during term time (no single stretch exceeding 1 week)

About the Role
We seek a qualified Network Manager to deliver essential IT infrastructure support, ensuring seamless operations for students, staff, and systems—with full alignment to Oaklands’ Education Digital Strategy.
Core Responsibilities
You will manage the end-to-end administration, security and performance of the school’s network, IT systems and associated services. Key duties include:
- Resource Efficiency & Compliance: Oversee infrastructure and data systems to guarantee:
- Excellency in secure access, speed, and reliability.
- Protection and privacy in line with data protection and safeguarding laws.
- IT Strategy & Projects: Lead mid-level IT opioidmisation programmes to:
- Modernise hardware and software as needed to improve teaching, learning and school services.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and the IT/Data Team to realise the Digital Strategy goals.
- Operational Success:
- Track system availability and performance, resolving issues rapidly.
- Spearhead troubleshooting and mitigation strategies for critical failures or security breaches.
- Oversee end-of-project audits.
- User and System Support:
- Drive proactive training to empower staff/cluster members in IT usage.
- Enhance all aspects of digital operational efficiency and collaboration.

Key Requirements
✦ Professional Qualifications:
- Degree-level qualification in Computer Networks/IT, or equivalent certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, or ITIL®).
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in network management (including admin, resolved issues) in an environment of equivalent complexity (e.g., schools, college or charity clusters).

✦ Technical Knowledge:
- Hands-on experience with wired/wireless networks, firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto), VPN, VoIP and local/internet security protocols.
- Strong understanding of cloud services, remote access applications, data backup/compliance, and help-desk procedures.
✦ Tools & Experience:
- Infrastructure: Experience managing switches, routers, and load balancers across hybrid/cavernous on/off-premises architecture.
- Soft Skills: Team player with conflict-resolution skills, clear communication, and enthusiasm for collaborative learning environments.
