About The Role

As a Senior Network Solution Architect, you will play a key role in supporting the sustainment and evolution of the Defence High Frequency Communication System (DHFCS) and the Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communication System (EDHFCS).

Working within a highly technical and mission-critical environment, you will define requirements, develop network architecture designs, and support the integration, implementation and ongoing sustainment of complex Defence communication networks across geographically diverse locations.

You will collaborate closely with Systems Engineers, Cyber Security specialists, vendors and Defence stakeholders to deliver robust, secure and supportable network solutions across multiple security domains.

This role will see you contribute to technical documentation, security accreditation activities, deployment procedures and network budget calculations, while ensuring all solutions align with Defence standards, contractual obligations and WHS requirements.

About You

With extensive experience in network architecture and infrastructure design, you bring a strong understanding of complex enterprise or Defence communication networks and the challenges of operating within secure, mission-critical environments.

Exposure to multi-domain networks, systems integration and Defence security frameworks such as the ISM will be highly regarded, along with the ability to interpret vendor best practices and translate them into practical, supportable solutions.

Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and engage confidently with customers, vendors and technical stakeholders.

A proactive approach, attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes will see you thrive while contributing to innovation, continuous improvement and the ongoing sustainment of a critical Defence capability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
