Network Technician

Network Technician

Location: Northampton, Daventry, Rothwell, Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby, Huntingdon, Rushden and Easton-on-the-Hill

The Role

Contract:

  • Full-time (37hrs/week)
  • Permanent, with flexibility for part-time opportunities
  • 24% increase in salary for standby availability

Salary: circa £34,258 per year + 24% increase for standby

Who We Are:

Integrated Maintenance, Repair and Development Services (IMRDS) is the team responsible for:

  • Maintaining our water supply systems
  • Repairs for emergencies (e.g., water bursts)
  • Developing new methods to improve customer service

Embedded Alliance Partnership IMRDS collaborates with other organisations to deliver the best skills and talent for each task.


Responsibilities

Key Tasks:

  • Become part of the Network Technicians team to ensure safe and clean water for customers.
  • Conduct planned maintenance and respond to emergencies daily:
    • Flushing
    • Surveying
    • Leak detections
    • Pressure and flow tests
    • Valve operations
  • Use maps, tools, and data to swiftly resolve operational issues.
  • Travel region-wide in a fully-equipped supply van to maintain water quality.
  • Provide high-level customer service—communicating at every stage with our customers.

Training and Development

  • Onboarding includes:
    • Hands-on training
    • Job shadowing
    • Progress toward NRSWA accreditation and LTO training (Licence to Operate).

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in engineering or frontline service provision (preferably water networks/leakage control).
  • GCSE-level education (or equivalent).
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Must have experience in public-facing roles, able to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Proven customer service expertise.

Work Arrangements:

  • 37-hour week with flexibility for:
    • Standby roster requirements
    • Overtime as needed.

Field Role:

  • Must travel across locations to carry out duties.
