About The Role
As a Networking Sales Specialist, you'll play a key role in helping some of the UK's largest organisations modernise, optimise and secure their network environments. Working across enterprise customers in sectors such as retail, manufacturing, utilities, travel and construction, you'll act as the networking subject matter expert within the wider sales organisation.
This is a field-based role supporting Account Managers and Acquisition Managers to identify opportunities, uncover customer challenges and shape solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes. You'll work with existing customers and new prospects, helping them improve network performance, resilience, security and connectivity while driving revenue growth for BT.
You'll collaborate closely with solution architects, technical specialists, product teams and vendor partners to develop solutions across networking, connectivity, IT infrastructure and network security. Success will come from building trusted relationships, identifying gaps within customer estates and positioning the right solutions to support their transformation goals.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive growth across BT's networking, connectivity, IT infrastructure and network security portfolio
- Identify opportunities within existing enterprise customers and support new business acquisition activity.
- Engage customers to understand their current network estate, business challenges and future technology strategy
- Recommend improvements that enhance network performance, resilience, security and operational efficiency
- Build and execute account growth plans that increase BT's footprint across customer environments.
- Lead specialist sales activity from discovery and qualification through to proposal, business case and close
- Collaborate with Account Managers, Acquisition Managers, Solution Architects and technical teams to develop winning solutions
- Position solutions across areas including connectivity, SD-WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, managed network services, cloud connectivity and network security
- Develop trusted relationships with IT, infrastructure, security and business stakeholders within medium-to-large enterprise customers

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
