About Starcount

Starcount is fast-building a reputation as one of the most exciting, innovative audience data products in the market. We are delivering significant performance uplifts for our partners.

In an industry of commoditized data where everyone has access to the same signals, Starcount gives clients a unique advantage: the ‘Why’ intelligence layer. The ultimate competitive advantage isn't just knowing what someone bought; it’s knowing why they bought it. Starcount exists to reveal these hidden motivations by bringing together fragmented data across online web behaviours, banking spend transactions, and telco movement. We don't just find shoppers; we reveal their reasons for choosing every brand so our clients can deliver high-performance outcomes across every channel.

We are an independent challenger business, quickly scaling across media agencies, media owners, and brands directly. Our data is applied across omnichannel campaigns, including Out-of-Home (OOH), Connected TV (CTV), digital, paid social, mail, and CRM.

We are a small but growing team based in Liverpool Street, London.

The Role

As our New Business Director, you will be the engine of revenue growth for our business. Your mission is to ensure Starcount’s high-performing audience data becomes front-of-mind for every campaign.

This is a high-impact, consultative sales role for an intelligent, well-connected professional who understands the media ecosystem. You understand that the best sales come from solving a client’s problems and know how to navigate the planning, insights, and activation teams of holding groups and independent agencies alike.

You are already a trusted, respected voice across UK independent agencies and holding groups. You possess the strategic gravitas to sell to planning leads, the data literacy to convince insight teams, and the relationships to get in the room with activation/ client leads.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key Responsibilities

Marketers and agencies often struggle to translate great insight work - usually built from claimed surveys into actionable, high-performing media. Starcount bridges this gap. Your job is to position Starcount up the value chain, showing we are not just a tactical data vendor, but a strategic insight, planning, and activation partner for the entire ecosystem.

Working at Starcount is agile and fast-paced. We are looking for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment. Your days will be varied and rewarding, with ample opportunity to get involved in multiple areas of the business.

Agency & Brand Outreach

  • Leverage existing senior relationships across UK holding groups and leading independent agencies to drive adoption of Starcount data across planning, insight, and activation teams.
  • Act as the primary commercial contact for Data Strategists, Media Planners, Insight Directors, and Audience Activation Leads to ensure Starcount is a line item on every relevant brief.
  • Target progressive brands directly - specifically their in-house digital and marketing teams - demonstrating how our ‘Why’ data transforms their campaign ROI.

AdTech & Media Owner Partnerships

  • Sell the unique performance benefits of onboarding Starcount data into media owners' and publishers' first-party environments to drive higher yields for their inventory.
  • Manage and maximize our commercial presence across the adtech stack, ensuring Starcount data is seamlessly available, discoverable, and prioritized across all key DMPs, DSPs, and SSPs.
  • Drive revenue scale without compromising our data’s premium positioning or allowing it to become commoditized.
