About Pictures for the People
Pictures for the People is an award-winning social enterprise video production company. We create films and animations for charities, healthcare organisations, universities, public sector bodies and purpose-driven brands.
Every commercial project we deliver helps fund training and employment opportunities for young people facing barriers to entering the creative industries. We're growing and are looking for an experienced Business Manager to help drive our next stage of growth.
The Role
This is not a traditional sales role.
We're looking for someone who understands the realities of production and can confidently manage client relationships, develop new business opportunities and oversee projects from initial enquiry through to delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a background in video production, agency account management, production management or production company operations and will be comfortable speaking with both clients and creatives.
You will work closely with the Founder and production team to help grow the business, improve systems and ensure projects run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Generate and nurture new business opportunities. Build relationships with charities, healthcare organisations, universities and purpose-driven brands. Respond to inbound enquiries and convert opportunities into projects. Attend networking events and industry meetings. Identify opportunities for repeat business and long-term client partnerships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
