About Us
Universal Containers is one of the UK’s leading container suppliers. Established in 1991, we supply shipping containers, container conversions, hire, and container parts to customers nationwide.
We work with organisations including councils, colleges, universities, utilities, engineering businesses, and construction companies. As we invest in our sales function, we are looking for an ambitious New Business Sales Executive to help us win more of the right customers.
This is a hands-on, phone-led sales role. You will be responsible for building your own pipeline, speaking with new prospects, understanding what they need, and converting opportunities into long-term customer relationships.
It would suit an experienced SDR, Sales Development Representative, or outbound sales person ready for the next step into a full sales role — with the opportunity to quote, negotiate, and close business rather than simply book meetings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
