Description
Advance your sales career with LOCALiQ
Ready to take your sales career to the next level? Join LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group, as a Field Sales Executive and become a key player in helping local businesses grow through powerful, results-driven advertising solutions.
This is a field-based, consultative sales role where you’ll be booking meetings in your territory, working with business owners and decision-makers face-to-face. You’ll represent some of the region’s most trusted local news brands and offer a cutting-edge mix of digital display and print products, tailored to each client’s goals. From first contact to closing the deals, you’ll be building strong relationships and delivering solutions that make a real impact.
This is not a desk job. You’ll be on the move, visiting clients in their working environments, gaining real insight into their businesses, and showing them how LOCALiQ can help them thrive. To succeed in this role, you must be based within or near the territory, hold a full UK driving licence, and have access to your own vehicle for work-related travel. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday during office hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and win new business by proactively reaching out to potential clients across your region using cold calling and outbound sales techniques.
- Work to clear financial targets and KPIs, consistently striving to exceed monthly revenue goals and performance benchmarks.
- Manage and grow existing client accounts, providing ongoing support, identifying upsell opportunities, and increasing client spend through strategic recommendations.
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, using a consultative approach to move prospects through the sales cycle.
- Build long-term relationships with clients by providing expert advice, excellent service, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and campaign delivery for new clients.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and LOCALiQ’s evolving product suite to maintain a competitive edge.
- Represent LOCALiQ with professionalism and credibility, acting as a trusted ambassador for our regional news brands.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
