New Business Sales Manager – Industrial Solutions & Power

New Business Sales Manager – Industrial Solutions & Power

Field-Based – National Role Salary: Competitive + Bonus (£80,000 OTE) + Company Car + Benefits

Some salespeople wait for opportunities, and others create them.

If you’re the kind of salesperson who thrives on opening doors others think are closed, this could be one of the most rewarding opportunities this year.

Our client is one of the UK’s leading engineering businesses, delivering world-class industrial engine solutions to OEM manufacturers across construction, industrial equipment, power generation, agriculture, specialist vehicles, and countless other sectors.

Their products are exceptional. Their technical capabilities are unmatched. Their reputation ensures critical conversations start.

What they need now is someone whose instinct is to go find the next customer.

This isn’t a role for someone who waits for enquiries. It’s for someone who loves the challenge of creating opportunities from scratch. You’ll research businesses, identify decision-makers, ask insightful questions, and uncover problems customers didn’t know could be solved differently.

--- Engineering expertise isn’t required – a world-class technical team will design solutions, specify products, and support the process. Your focus? Identify, engage and win new business—opening doors, building trust, creating value, and closing deals.

If you’ve built a career on winning new business through curiosity, resilience, and consultative selling rather than relying on price, you’ll thrive here.

Why This Role?

The opportunity is massive. Industrial engines aren’t just power sources—they’re critical components in thousands of applications. Examples include:

  • Machinery for construction
  • Special equipment
  • Mobile plant
  • Power generation systems
  • Industrial products

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Most people never consider these as sales targets—but they’re all potential customers.

With world-class brand backing and a global recommended engineering capability, every solution you propose has industry-leading support. Few sales roles offer this powerful combination.

The Role

Your Core Focus:

  • Identify, engage, and win new OEM customers across industrial sectors.
  • Proactively build a structured pipeline, qualify prospects, and close complex, consultative deals.
  • Partner with engineering, technical and marketing teams to develop bespoke solutions that genuinely solve customer pain points—not just sell a product.
  • After a sale, ensure a smooth handover while continuously uncovering opportunities for further growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Seek out new prospects in key industrial sectors.
  • Develop strategic market research and prospecting plans.
  • Initiate conversations with senior decision-makers.
  • Implement consultative selling techniques to identify and address customer challenges.
  • Differentiate the proposition with compelling, value-driven commercial arguments.
  • Negotiate and close deals through extended, intricate sales cycles.
  • Collaborate with technical experts to tailor solutions to customer needs.
  • Track a healthy pipeline using structured CRM and sales planning.
  • Represent the business at trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences.
  • ** Bombard with opportunities** that drive sustainable long-term growth.

About You

You won’t even need prior experience in industrial engines—what matters is your sales approach.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Loves hunting new business opportunities.
  • Asks provocative, insightful questions to uncover hidden customer pain points.
  • Can create value rather than compete on price.
  • Thrives on consultative selling and building long-term relationships.
  • Takes on longer, more intricate sales cycles with resilience.
  • Manages prospects across a structured pipeline.
  • Builds and nurtures commercial relationships.

Technical or engineering experience is a plus—but fundamentally, this is about who you are as a sales professional. Opening doors. Finding solutions. Turning curiosity into commercial advantage.

Experience selling technical products, engineering solutions, capital equipment, or complex B2B solutions is highly relevant, though industrial engines knowledge can be developed.
