New Entrant Clinical Trainer
Clinical Trainer – PIP (Personal Independence Payments) – New Entrant
Who are IPRS PFAS?
As Functional Assessors at PFAS, we work on behalf of the DWP, assessing claimants who have applied for Personal Independence Payments (PIP) benefit.
Our role involves gathering information and evaluating how individuals' disabilities, conditions, or illnesses impact their functional ability in daily activities. We conduct thorough, respectful, non-biased, and reassuring assessments, using our clinical curiosity, medical knowledge, and learnt resources to present findings to the DWP.
After collecting all information, we prepare a report that, alongside supporting evidence, informs the DWP’s decision on a claimant’s eligibility.

The Role: Clinical Trainer (PIP)
Key Responsibilities
As a New Entrant Clinical Trainer, your primary focus is training and supporting newly hired healthcare professionals (HPs) conducting PIP assessments for benefit claimants.

✅ Train and equip HPs with the skills, knowledge, and confidence required for high-quality, compliance-driven assessments, improving operational efficiency and long-term business success.
✅ Oversee the onboarding and training process, ensuring new hires are well-prepared for assessments.
✅ Conduct personal and independent clinical assessments, interpreting and analysing findings to create accurate, professional reports that advise on claimants' functional abilities and needs.
Requirements
Who We Are Looking For:
All backgrounds and experiences are welcome, but we’re specifically seeking someone with:
Qualifications (Required):
- Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist
- Qualified Occupational Therapist (BSc or equivalent)
- Qualified Paramedic
- Qualified Nurse (RGN, RMN, or RNLD only)
Experience:
✔ 2+ years of clinical experience in PIP assessments ✔ Previous practice in clinical leadership, such as training in group settings ✔ Experience as a Clinical Coach in the PIP system
Key Competencies:
✅ Knowledge:
- **Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
- Broad clinical proficiency in assessing functional limitations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software
✅ Skills:
- Strong ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and build positive working relationships.
- Highly developed oral & written communication skills with adaptability to dynamic work environments.
- Positive, proactive attitude towards change and role modelling good practice.
- Capable of coaching/mentoring colleagues while operating with minimal supervision.
- Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
- Dedicates to organisational culture and partnering effectively with internal/external stakeholders.

- Knowledge of PIP DES guidance and any tech-based assessment tools.
- Experience in managing quality assurance within assessment settings.
