Newly Qualified Criminal Solicitor

Newly Qualified Criminal Solicitor – Central London

Opportunity with a Leading London-Based Law Firm

We are recruiting a Newly Qualified Criminal Solicitor to join an expanding Criminal Defence team in Central London.

This is a perfect opportunity to kickstart your criminal law career in a supportive and dynamic environment, gaining invaluable experience and working on high-profile cases.


Key Responsibilities

You will be involved in:

  • Managing a varied caseload of criminal defence matters, including serious and complex crime
  • Attending police stations and representing clients during interviews (Police Station Accreditation preferred)
  • Conducting advocacy in Magistrates’ Court (training and support provided)
  • Preparing clear, accurate legal advice and documentation
  • Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties to ensure efficient case progression
  • Supporting senior lawyers and contributing to team goals
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards

Requirements & Qualifications

The ideal candidate should be:

  • SRA qualified with a strong passion for Criminal Law
  • Possess excellent communication and client care skills
  • Demonstrates strong organisational skills and the ability to deal under pressure
  • Confident in IT use and task management
  • Has a proactive, team-focused approach
  • Preferred: Police Station Accreditation (or willing to work towards it)
  • Desired: Previous or willingness to achieve Duty Solicitor status
