As an NGP Science Manager
As an NGP Science Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the scientific strategy behind our Next Generation Products (NGP) portfolio. You will be responsible for driving the scientific direction that supports successful product launches, regulatory compliance, and the long-term commercial success of our products across international markets. Working closely with colleagues across Science, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Affairs, and Legal, you will ensure scientific research is translated into practical business outcomes that support both innovation and harm reduction ambitions.
In this highly collaborative role, you will act as a trusted scientific advisor, leading cross-functional initiatives and representing Imperial Brands within external scientific, regulatory, and standardization bodies. You will help transform complex scientific evidence into clear, credible insights that strengthen our position with regulators, stakeholders, and consumers, while contributing to the continued growth of our Next Generation Products portfolio.

Principle Accountabilities
- Develop and execute the scientific strategy for the Next Generation Products portfolio, ensuring the successful delivery of regulatory science that supports new product launches and the ongoing commercial viability of existing products.
- Lead cross-functional scientific projects by collaborating with subject matter experts across Science, Regulatory Affairs, Corporate Affairs, and Legal to deliver high-quality research and regulatory outcomes.
- Act as the scientific lead on complex regulatory and technical matters, representing Imperial Brands at national and international scientific, regulatory, and standardization forums.
- Drive the planning and delivery of scientific research that strengthens evidence-based policy development, builds consumer and regulator confidence, and supports Imperial Brands' harm reduction objectives.
- Develop scientific publication and communication plans, translating complex scientific concepts into clear and impactful messages for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Promote scientific knowledge across the business by educating colleagues, supporting stakeholder engagement, and contributing to the continuous development of expertise within the NGP category.

Skills and Experience Required
- Postgraduate degree (Master's or PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Proven experience working within a highly regulated industry, ideally in a scientific, regulatory affairs, or product development environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading scientific research programs and managing complex cross-functional projects from strategy through execution.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex scientific and technical information and translate it into practical business recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse internal and external audiences.
- A collaborative and strategic mindset, with a passion for innovation, scientific excellence, and delivering business impact in a fast-paced international environment.
