NHS 18 Week RTT Data Validator (5 Positions)
Overview
Talabs Group UK Ltd t/a TalabsCARE is recruiting experienced NHS 18 Week RTT Data Validators for an urgent NHS elective recovery programme with a West Midlands Acute NHS Trust. Up to five experienced professionals are sought for this initial project.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile NHS elective recovery programme by supporting RTT performance, improving patient pathway accuracy, and ensuring compliance with national NHS 18 Week RTT standards.
Contract: Fixed-Term (1 July – 31 October) Location: West Midlands Working Pattern: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Applications are reviewed daily—early applications encouraged as interviews may commence before the closing date.
⚠️ Applicants must possess recent NHS RTT validation experience. Applications without relevant NHS experience are unlikely to be shortlisted.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate NHS 18 Week Referral to Treatment (RTT) patient pathways
- Review and maintain accurate patient pathway data in line with NHS RTT guidance
- Identify and resolve pathway discrepancies to support waiting list accuracy
- Update and maintain patient records using NHS Patient Administration Systems (PAS)
- Produce accurate reports and validation data in Microsoft Excel
- Collaborate with operational managers, clinicians, and administrative teams to resolve validation queries
- Ensure compliance with NHS Information Governance, data protection, and confidentiality policies
- Support the Trust in achieving elective recovery and RTT performance targets

Essential Requirements
- Minimum three years’ recent NHS experience in managing 18 Week RTT patient pathways or undertaking RTT validation within an NHS Trust
- Proven experience working within the NHS 18 Week RTT pathways
- Strong understanding of NHS RTT rules, national guidance, and patient pathway management
- Experience using NHS Patient Administration Systems (PAS)
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (ability to analyse large datasets and produce detailed reports)
- Strong attention to detail, with the capability to accurately validate large volumes of patient data
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
Desirable Qualities
- Experience using Oasis PAS
- First-hand experience supporting NHS elective recovery or waiting list optimisation initiatives
- Previous work within an Acute NHS Trust
