About the project

We have an exciting opportunity for experienced and skilled health / social care professionals and advocates to join the team of a unique social enterprise. The core function of this role is to provide specialist client representation (advocacy) to individuals across England who are navigating the NHS Continuing Healthcare assessment process. With a long history of delivering skilled advocacy and training in NHS Continuing Healthcare, we want you to be part of a strong team committed to delivering excellence and achieving success in line with our objectives.

Requirements for the role

  • You will be an excellent communicator and skilled advocate with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within the field of NHS Continuing Healthcare or a similar role with a transferable knowledgebase.
  • A health, social care, advocacy or legal qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • A proven ability to analyse complex matters, provide a clear and coherent rationale and deliver skilled advocacy by presenting fact-based arguments is essential.
  • A well developed and accurate understanding of the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS-funded Nursing Care (2022) is an essential requirement and will be tested as part of the selection process.
  • The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders in challenging circumstances.
  • You will be able to establish a good rapport with clients in a professional and caring manner and represent them in situations that may at times be highly emotionally charged, always upholding brand values.

Main scope of the work

  • Delivery of client representation (advocacy) in person or remotely to individuals in England throughout the NHS continuing healthcare assessment process (including Checklists, full assessments using the Decision Support Tool, Fast Track meetings and reviews). IMPORTANT NOTE: a majority of assessments will take place in person at various locations across England. Therefore this role is likely to involve long-distance travel and overnight stays within England, sometimes with relatively short notice.
  • Analytical examination of all relevant care records and assessments in preparation for continuing healthcare assessments and reviews, also preparing clients for their assessment and providing robust advocacy at assessment meetings based upon a sound understanding of the facts, and referencing evidence compiled from such records.
  • Liaising with health and social care professionals involved in assessments and reviews as necessary to promote a positive, professional and policy-compliant experience.
  • Providing specialist information and advice to clients, tailored to their specific situation and needs regarding the interpretation of a primary health need from a thorough understanding of relevant criteria, assessment frameworks and legal tests which are based upon case-law.
  • To manage personal travel arrangements in line with the requirements of the case.
  • To prepare factual summary submissions for clients and relevant Integrated Care Boards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
