About the Role
EPUT is seeking an enthusiastic NHS Locum Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in providing leading expert medical input to the Essex Community Adult Eating Disorder Service. This post exclusively covers the Mid and South Essex areas and is based at either:
- Sankey House (Pitsea)
- Northgate Centre (Colchester)

Responsibilities
The post holder will undertake a variety of key responsibilities, including:

Clinical Leadership & Medical Advisory Role:
- Provide expert medical input that integrates psychological formulation and treatment approaches for adult eating disorder patients.
- Lead and collaborate with teams under flexible conditions (consultations with team members, service managers, local operational leads, and other consultants).

Service Engagement & Development:
- Work with partners and stakeholders to enhance delivery of eating disorder services.
- Conduct service evaluations and contribute to service development work.
- Ensure service leadership, supported by the Head of Service and operational managers.

Patient Care & Accountability:
- Provide assessment, management, planning, and delivery of care for allocated patients, ensuring patient safety and compliance with medical, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Hold full responsibility for medical decisions with GMC registration and full Specialist Registration (CCT or within six months of obtaining it).

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications:
- Full GMC (General Medical Council) registration.
- Appropriate placement on the Specialist Register, with either:
- A completed Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or
- Be no more than six months away from obtaining the CCT.

Certificates of Sponsorship:
- Due to current allocation constraints, COS (Certificates of Sponsorship) prioritisation is in place. This role may be subject to those exceptions.
