Night Assistant
Job Title: Night Assistant
Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £26,227.50 per annum plus 10% Night Allowance Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Working Pattern: 3-week rolling rota (4 days out of 7) Location: South Lakes Foyer, Kendal, Cumbria

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Night Assistant, you’ll ensure the safety, security, and support of Riverside’s customers during night shifts.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Operating security, fire, and telephone systems to maintain building safety.
- Conducting regular property checks and reporting any repairs or maintenance issues.
- Responding to security alerts, faults, or emergencies as needed.
- Ensuring healthy living environments by cleaning communal spaces and rooms when necessary.
- Monitoring visitor access and assessing support needs to ensure compliance.
- Completing regular health & safety risk reviews and reporting concerns timely.

About You: Key Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Experience or willingness to work nights/lone shifts in a security or supportive environment.
- Basic IT skills (Microsoft Word & Excel proficiency), with a readiness to learn organisation-specific systems.
- Ability to organise tasks effectively while handling difficult situations calmly.
- Knowledge of supporting vulnerable client groups or commitment to learning safe practices.

Desirable (but not mandatory):
- Lived experience of homelessness, mental health challenges, or substance misuse.
- Experience using CCTV systems or managing building security protocols.
