Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION

To act and interact with guests and ambassadors in a way that will create a legendary experience in accordance with the Sofitel Values; Open Mindedness, Generosity, Excellence, Joie de Vivre. Under the general guidance and supervision of the Night Manager and within the established Sofitel London St James’ policies and procedures, responsible for activities such as, but not limited to, check in and check out, auditing and closing the date.

Responsibilities

  • To maintain and where possible exceed the standards indicated by Sofitel Benchmark, Forbes and LQA
  • Responsible for welcoming and processing of all late arrival guests to the hotel.
  • Responsible for the comfort of all our guests throughout the night and provide continuity of service for front office over a period of 24 hours.
  • Handling internal and external phone calls in the absence of switchboard.
  • Carry out operations concerning payment, currency exchange.
  • Complete credit check on all guests each night, reporting any problems to Night Manager.
  • Provide wake-up calls for hotel guests in the absence of the Night Manager.
  • Respond to all guest correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Prepare all activities and incident reports every night
  • Assists in preparing a hand-over for the next day shift team.
  • Prepare the reservations for early morning arrivals.
  • Handling concierge duties in case no concierge staff available such as booking cabs, carrying luggage to the room and distributing the daily newspaper.
  • Check the cleanliness of the workplace, making sure that the reception area and the back office are clean and tidy at all times.
  • Responds to guests requests in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Previous hotel or front office experience preferred.
  • Strong numerical and cash-handling skills.
  • Proficient in PMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently on night shifts.
