Role Overview
Our Night Baker plays a critical role in ensuring the bakery’s daily product line is prepared and ready by morning. This is a part-time, on-site shift position operating in what can be a fast-paced, high-output kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and Baking Operations
- Mix doughs and batters for a variety of bakery staples, including homemade bread, cookies, and other baked goods
- Follow precision recipes and maintain strict quality control standards
- Monitor and manage oven schedules to achieve optimal baking results

Production & Process Control
- Ensure baked products are properly cooled, wrapped, and labelled according to brand specifications
- Collaborate with the day team to support smooth production workflows and pack outgoing goods for retail

Health, Safety, and Hygiene
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workstation
- Adhere to strict food safety regulations (HACCP, hygiene standards, allergens)
- Report any safety hazards or hygiene breaches promptly

Inventory & Workplace Management
- Check and assist with ingredient inventory to minimise waste
- Consume tame stock preparation as part of shift routine

We are seeking applicants with:
- Practical baking experience—including dough handling, oven techniques, and proofing/baking methods
- Familiarity with cookie and flatbread production, in addition to bread-making
- Ability to work night shifts, including early morning hands-on production shifts
- Strong physical endurance—standing for extended periods and manual work tolerance
- Meticulous attention to detail when ensuring quality, portioning, and first impressions
- Commitment to food safety and hygiene practices at all times
Bonus Considerations:
- Prior experience in a commercial bakery or food production environment
- Team-player mindset with clear communication skills
