Night Care Assistant, Eastbourne

Care Assistants (Overnight shifts), Eastbourne

Summary

Salaried position as a Supported Living Care Worker with flexible overnight shifts within Eastbourne’s Extra Care Scheme.

  • Salary: £13.00–£13.50 per hour (weekend premium of £13.50)
  • Shifts: 9:45pm–7:15am (rotating weekly pattern: Week 1 – Mon, Fri–Sun, Week 2 – Tue–Fri)
  • Requirements: No prior experience needed (full training provided)
  • Flexibility: Must cover weekends and shift swaps as required

Responsibilities

Client Caring Duties

  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs):
    • Morning/wake routines, bedtime services, dressing/undressing
    • Hygiene support (washing, bathing, toileting)
  • Aid mobility, including use of mobility equipment
  • Ensure physical comfort via:
    • Bed/laundry making, light cleaning, commode management
    • Providing bed/nursing care to temporarily unwell users
  • Nutritional support – preparing, interpreting dietary restrictions, assisting with feeding
  • Medication management (administering only per care plans)
  • Supporting onasite medical care such as dressing minor wounds

Specialist Care

  • Implement personalised care plans (dementia, continence management, mental health)
  • Assist with end-of-life care requirements
  • Adapt therapy activities to boost mental/physical wellbeing

Administrative & Safeguarding Duties

  • Compile and review care reports, staff meetings notes, training records
  • Prompt safeguarding compliance, including:
    • Security protocols
    • Identity badge policies
    • Staff關 (traceability)
  • Escalate health/welfare concerns to supervision
  • Assist in consumer/social engagement (e.g., shopping, club activities)

  • Demonstrate versatility in duties as directed

Requirements

  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • No previous experience. Qualifications available via employer (salaried tuition support)
