Job Description

We are urgently seeking compassionate and reliable Night Care Professionals to join our care team at Home Instead Edgbaston, Birmingham, United Kingdom. In this essential role, you will provide high-quality care and support to our clients during overnight hours, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals while working as part of a dedicated healthcare team.

  • Provide direct personal care and support to clients during night shifts, including assistance with activities of daily living
  • Monitor clients' health status and report any changes or concerns to the day care team and management
  • Maintain accurate and detailed care documentation and records in accordance with organizational protocols
  • Respond promptly and compassionately to client requests and emergencies
  • Ensure clients' safety and security throughout the night, conducting regular welfare checks
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients
  • Communicate effectively with clients and their families regarding care needs and any incidents
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, safeguarding policies, and duty of care requirements
  • Work independently while maintaining professional standards and best practices
  • Support clients with medication administration as per organizational guidelines and training
  • Identify and report any safeguarding concerns or potential risks immediately

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in care work, healthcare, or a related support role
  • Strong empathy and genuine compassion for vulnerable individuals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work reliably on night shifts and maintain consistent attendance
  • Physical stamina and ability to assist clients with mobility and personal care
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgment in problem-solving
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and safeguarding principles
  • Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality and respecting client dignity
  • First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Experience with care documentation systems and record-keeping
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  • Team collaboration skills and willingness to communicate with colleagues
  • Understanding of duty of care and professional boundaries in healthcare settings
