Night Care Team Leader – Wickmeads, Tuckton, Bournemouth

Role Overview

Join Care South’s caring community as a Night Care Team Leader and inspire, nurture, and lead a team dedicated to delivering exceptional compassionate care.


Job Details

  • Location: Wickmeads, Tuckton, Bournemouth, BH6 4LG
  • Salary: Up to £33,370 per annum
  • Working Hours: Full-time or part-time available
  • Shift Pattern: 19:45 – 08:00 (including alternate weekends)

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced night care professional who can lead with empathy, ensure high-quality care, and inspire a positive team culture. You’ll play a critical role in supporting residents, managing your team, and upholding Care South’s core values: Honesty, Excellence, Approach, Respect, and Teamwork.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and managing quality night care for residents
  • Supervising staff to ensure safety, efficacy, and professionalism
  • Overseeing medication administration and liaising with healthcare professionals/families
  • Guiding your team through ongoing support and professional development

Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Ensure safe, high-standard care for residents through strict compliance with Care South values
  • Lead night duty teams, ensuring robust care delivery and staff wellbeing
  • Administer medication with competence and accuracy
  • Communicate effectively with external professionals and resident families
  • Monitor and report on resident progress, health updates, and emergent needs

Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Age: 18+ years old
  • Qualification: Completed NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Medication Administration: Fully trained and competent
  • Leadership: Proven ability to guide, develop, and supervise teams

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a night shift care environment
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with residents, families, and medical teams
  • Comfortable using care best-practice protocols
