Location: St James Quarter
Hourly Rate: £15.95
Job Type: Permanent Part-Time
Start Date: 31.07.26
Working Hours: 19:00 to 07:00
Shift Pattern: Working 4 days on and 4 days off (including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis)
Responsible to: Operations Manager
Directly Supervising: Night Cleaning Team
Main Purpose of Job
To lead and supervise the night cleaning team, ensuring all cleaning operations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards, while maintaining excellent customer service and compliance with company procedures.
Duties:
Organisation of team
- Ensure all team members sign in correctly and manage attendance and punctuality.
- Ensure uniforms, name badges and appropriate PPE are worn at all times.
- Allocate duties according to the contract specification, operational priorities and individual skills.
- Monitor absences and report them promptly to the Operations Manager.
- Carry out regular quality inspections throughout the shift and ensure any remedial actions are completed.
- Ensure staff follow the company break policy and that no breaks are taken during the final hour of the shift unless authorised by management.
- Supervise the end-of-shift sign-out process and carry out bag checks in accordance with company policy.
- Promote and enforce compliance with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure all employees have the appropriate Right to Work documentation in line with company procedures and UK laws.
Equipment
- Carry out regular inspections of all cleaning equipment and report defects promptly.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely, cleaned after use and stored correctly.
- Ensure cloths, mops and other reusable cleaning materials are cleaned and stored appropriately.
- Ensure dust mop heads are maintained in a clean condition and replaced or washed as required.
- Report damaged or faulty equipment to the Operations Manager without delay.

Products
- Ensure all cleaning products are stored safely in their original containers.
- Ensure correct dilution rates are followed at all times.
- Ensure the appropriate product is used for each cleaning task.
- Ensure full compliance with COSHH regulations.
- Ensure all appropriate PPE, including gloves, is worn when required.
Administration
- Complete and submit timesheets accurately and within the required timescales.
- Ensure all new starter documentation is completed accurately and submitted to Head Office.
- Ensure employment documentation is completed before employees commence work.
- Monitor and record any hours owed and ensure these are recovered in accordance with company procedures.
- Order cleaning materials and consumables within agreed budgets.
- Comply with all company procedures, work instructions and operational documentation.
Human Resource and Training
- Follow the company disciplinary procedure for any staff misdemeanours or misconduct
- Follow the company grievance procedure for any dissatisfied staff
- Ensure that every new member of staff receives induction training
- Ensure that every member of staff receives instruction, supervision, information and training in all tasks and on all machinery
- Complete and maintain all checklists and training records

Customer Care
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with the client and their representatives.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality regarding Grosvenor, the client and their personnel.
- Report any incidents, customer concerns, complaints or service issues to the Operations Manager immediately.
Miscellaneous
- You may be required to work at other Grosvenor sites from time to time
- Carry out any other reasonable and practical instruction by your Line Manager
- Follow the established management reporting structure unless otherwise instructed.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous cleaning supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience leading teams.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills.
- Flexible and reliable.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH is desirable.
