Night Commis Chef

As a Night Commis Chef, you will support the overnight culinary operation, assisting with the preparation, cooking and presentation of high-quality dishes for in-room dining, overnight guest requests and early-morning services. Working alongside senior chefs, you will help ensure the kitchen operates efficiently throughout the night while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene and organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring chef looking to develop their culinary career within a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation, cooking and presentation of dishes during the overnight shift.
  • Support the delivery of overnight in-room dining and special guest requests.
  • Prepare ingredients and mise en place for breakfast and daytime operations.
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas throughout the shift.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures.
  • Assist with stock rotation, labelling and storage to ensure compliance and minimise waste.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of ingredients and finished dishes.
  • Support senior chefs with daily operational requirements and kitchen preparations.
  • Report any maintenance issues, equipment faults or health and safety concerns promptly.
  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
