Overview
The Night Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of guest areas and public spaces during overnight hours. The role supports the smooth operation of the hotel by ensuring that all areas are clean, safe, and ready for use by guests and staff the following day. This position may also involve responding to guest requests, handling laundry duties, and supporting other departments as needed during the night shift.
To provide high standards of cleanliness and guest service during night hours by ensuring all public areas, guest rooms (as required), and back-of-house spaces are clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked. The role contributes to the overall guest experience by ensuring a welcoming and hygienic environment throughout the hotel, even during off-peak hours.
The Night Housekeeping Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the hotel remains clean, safe, and welcoming during overnight hours. Working independently or as part of a small night team, the attendant is responsible for maintaining public areas, responding to guest requests, and preparing the property for the next day’s operations. This role requires attention to detail, discretion, and a commitment to upholding the hotel’s cleanliness and service standards while guests’ rest.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms during night hours.
- Respond promptly to guest requests for extra towels, bedding, or room cleaning.
- Perform light room servicing or turndown service for late check-ins or special requests.
- Handle laundry tasks including washing, drying, folding, and storing linens and uniforms.
- Replenish housekeeping carts and storage areas with supplies for the next day.
- Ensure all cleaning tools and chemicals are used safely and stored properly.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or unusual activity to the night supervisor or security.
- Assist with setting up meeting rooms or event spaces for early morning functions.
- Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, guest interactions, and incidents.
- Follow all hotel policies, cleanliness standards, and health and safety regulations.

Skills And Qualifications

Working Conditions
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, as required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift/move heavy objects.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks related to housekeeping duties.
Eligibility
Candidates must be authorised to live and work in the UK. Currently, visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
