Marcliffe is seeking a reliable and hardworking Night Kitchen Porter to join our professional kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards and enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Working overnight, you will play a vital role in ensuring our kitchens, equipment, and food preparation areas are maintained to the highest standards, ready for the next day's operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deep clean kitchen areas, equipment, and food preparation stations.
  • Clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, crockery, and cutlery.
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness of food stores, refrigerators, freezers, corridors, and waste areas.
  • Dispose of food waste, cardboard, glass, and recycling in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure kitchen floors and work areas remain clean and safe.
  • Complete nightly cleaning schedules and records accurately.
  • Follow all food safety, health and safety, and COSHH procedures.
  • Replenish cleaning supplies and consumables as required.
  • Report maintenance issues and equipment faults promptly.
  • Support the Executive Chef and kitchen team with additional duties when required.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Good physical fitness and ability to undertake manual tasks.
  • Basic understanding of English.
  • Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a kitchen porter, cleaning, or hospitality role.
  • Level 1 Food Safety qualification.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safe chemical handling.
  • Experience using commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment.
