SALARY RANGE: £29,858.40 - £31,437.12

8.45pm – 7.45am, 40 hours per week across 4 nights (no set nights, working every other weekend)

What will the role entail?

  • Provide the highest standard of care to the children, ensuring all their needs are met.
  • Check in on the children every 20 minutes (or in line with specific guidelines) throughout the night and record the checks and additional information.
  • Support the children’s independence with everyday tasks and personal care.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, external professionals, and colleagues.
  • Undertake domestic duties during your night shift between checking in on the children.
  • Attend mandatory training courses and other recommended training to support your own development.

What is essential for the role?

The ideal candidate would be passionate about providing quality care and education for the children, have patience and understanding, have a proactive approach and will ensure they always promote the safeguarding and welfare for the children.

Previous experience within Care / Education isn’t essential as you will receive training.

Training & development at Loddon

We want to give you the best opportunity to learn hands on, how to do your role to the highest standard. Initially you will receive 4 weeks of training where you will shadow an experienced member of the team to allow you to learn and build relationships with the children, this is typically done across 2 weeks during the day, and 2 weeks during the night. You will also attend weekly induction training sessions (4x Thursdays 9am-4pm) to support you with your new role.

If you do not hold an equivalent qualification, with the support of our internal training department you will enroll into the Level 3 Residential Childcare Diploma, and qualify within your first 2 years of employment.

Your learning and development doesn’t have to stop there though, there are many opportunities to learn more as we offer a wide range of qualifications to support you within your role.

Hours of work?

Full time: 8.45pm – 7.45am, 40 hours per week across 4 nights (no set nights, working every other weekend)

We do also run a minibus service between Basingstoke & Reading. This service operates between 6am–9am and 6.30pm–11pm (Please note that this is not a guaranteed service, but will aim to cover all necessary pick-ups and drop-offs).

Salary

Annual salary for the role is between £29,858.40 – £31,437.12 (inclusive of a 10% night shift allowance). The hourly rate is between £13.05 – £13.74.

The salary is based on full time employment and is dependent on qualifications and experience within similar settings.

All applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK and have 12-18 months or more on their Visa. We are committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the children and expect all staff to share the same commitment. Successful applicants will undertake an enhanced DBS check and pre-employment checks following Safer Recruitment.
