About the Role

We are seeking a Night Manager for our hotel in Bath, a full-time, on-site position that operates during evening and overnight hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise front desk operations, ensuring seamless guest check-ins and check-outs.
  • Handle all guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally, maintaining high service standards.
  • Monitor safety, security, and emergency procedures, conducting regular property walks and responding to incidents as required.
  • Perform night audit duties, including:
    • Reconciling daily financial transactions
    • Generating night audit reports
    • Ensuring accuracy in financial recordings
  • Oversee handovers with daytime management teams, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Support housekeeping and maintenance teams as needed.
  • Maintain a welcoming, efficient, and safe environment for all guests.
  • Train, coach, and lead night shift staff to ensure consistent performance.
  • Adhere to company policies and uphold Providence Hotels’ service values.

Work Environment

  • On-site at a Bath hotel, with night, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience & Skills

✔ Hotel/hospitality background – Preferably in a supervisory or night management role. ✔ Exceptional customer service & handling skills – Ability to:

  • Compose responses to guests professionally
  • Resolve complaints calmly under pressure ✔ Front office proficiency – Knowledge of:
  • Reservations systems
  • Check-in/check-out processes
  • Cash handling & reconciliation ✔ Financial & administrative competency – Ability to:
  • Conduct night audits
  • Prepare financial reports
  • Maintain accurate records ✔ Safety & security awareness – Knowledge of:
  • Guest & staff protocol
  • Emergency response procedures ✔ Technical proficiency – Ability to:
  • Use hotel property management systems (PMS)
  • Navigate common software (email, spreadsheets, word processing) ✔ Leadership & interpersonal skills – Ability to:
  • Lead and support night shift teams
  • Collaborate effectively with daytime management ✔ Attention to detail & problem-solving – Must be:
  • Methodical & organised
  • Able to work independently during overnight shifts ✔ Flexibility – Willingness to work:
  • Nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

Nice-to-Have

✅ Prior experience in Bath’s hospitality sector – Local market knowledge is beneficial. ✅ Formal qualification in hospitality management – Not mandatory but advantageous.
