Night Manager – Novotel London Paddington

About This Role

This is a full-time position (39 hours per week) available at our 206-room hotel featuring:

  • On-site leisure centre (gym, swimming pool, sauna, steam room)
  • Responsibility for safe, efficient, and memorable overnight operations
  • A chance to develop leadership, financial management, and operational excellence

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Lead the overnight operation as Manager on Duty, ensuring the hotel runs smoothly during non-peak hours.
  • Supervise, motivate, and train the Front Office Night Team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly operational and financial reports to senior management.

Guest Experience

  • Deliver exceptional guest service by:
    • Handling enquiries, resolving concerns, and embodying our brand promise.
    • Leading by example and encouraging teamwork.
  • Conduct regular guest feedback monitoring and implement continuous improvement.

Finance & Compliance

  • Complete the Night Audit responsibly, ensuring:
    • Accurate financial reconciliations for all transactions, postings, and revenue reports.
    • Compliance with Accor billing and banking procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed operational & financial tracking.

Safety & Security

  • Conduct regular safety patrols through:
    • Public areas
    • Guest floors
    • Gym & leisure centre
    • Garage & back-of-house areas
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, fire, and security procedures.
  • Respond effectively to any emergencies in line with Accor guidelines.

Coordination & Support

  • Manage overnight room service, ensuring orders are prepared, delivered, and presented to brand standards.
  • Maintain effective cross-departmental communication and staffing planning.
  • Coach and develop team members to meet Accor brand standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven experience in a Night Manager, Night Supervisor, or Front Office leadership role within a hotel.
  • Strong understanding of Night Audit procedures and hotel revenue systems.
  • Outstanding guest service, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and financial reporting ability.
  • Ability to make decisions confidently and stay composed under pressure.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of health & safety, fire safety, and hotel security protocols.
  • Willingness to work overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Fluency in English (essential due to direct guest interaction).
  • Previous hands-on experience with hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera) is a major advantage.
