The Role Overview
As a Night Operations Supervisor, you will take the lead during night shifts, ensuring our student accommodation property remains safe, secure, and well managed.
You will:
- Oversee operational delivery overnight
- Lead the team on shift
- Act as the key escalation point for incidents and resident needs
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will:
- Make well-informed decisions
- Coordinate responses swiftly
- Ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for your residents
Working in partnership with our wider property team, you will ensure smooth handovers between shifts and uphold a supportive and secure environment where residents feel at their best.

Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to make a difference. As a Night Operations Supervisor, you will reinforce safety, security, and efficiency throughout the property while cultivating trust, confidence, and satisfaction among residents and staff.
Core Responsibilities
Here’s a taste of what your typical shift might look like:
- Lead night operations, ensuring all areas of the property remain safe, secure, and well-maintained during your entire shift
- Supervise and support the night team, setting clear expectations and maintaining high standards across all service areas
- Act as the primary point of escalation for operational incidents, making specifically decisions and leading effective responses to safety or service issues
- Handle emergencies efficiently, resolving concerns while ensuring full incident documentation and reporting
- Conduct safety checks and compliance audits, verifying adherence to health & safety guidelines and mandatory procedures
- Monitor and uphold property standards—ensure communal areas stay clean, safe, and welcoming
- Manage team rotas and attendance to maintain appropriate coverage and operational efficiency
- Oversee contractor access and work on-site, ensuring safety protocols are respected
- Facilitate seamless communication with day-shift teams to ensure continuity in standards and service delivery
- Provide a responsive ear to resident concerns, fostering a welcoming environment where safety and support are never far away

Key Requirements:
You should have:
✅ Experience within customer service, hospitality, property, or operational roles ✅ Prior experience supporting or supervising teams in customer-facing roles ✅ A track record of managing incidents and operational issues, including working calmly and efficiently in high-pressure situations ✅ A thorough understanding of health and safety procedures and the ability to actively promote a safe working environment ✅ Strong communication and problem-solving skills, both when working independently and collaborating as part of a tight-knit team ✅ An organised, proactive mindset—excelling in fast-paced environments where clear, thoughtful decisions determine outcomes
