Night Patient Care Assistant

Job Title: Night Patient Care Assistant
Salary: £26701 pro rata
Location: Wicstun, Market Weighton
Job Type: Permanent, part-time
Hours: 28 hours per week; 8pm – 8am; 4 nights on, 8 nights off on a rolling rota (inc. bank holidays and weekends)
Our emergency out of hours team is looking for a Patient Care Assistant to join the team. The role would suit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a keen interest in working with animals.
As a Patient Care Assistant, you will be always supported by an experienced RVN and a twilight Patient Care Assistant. This position is a vital role for the smooth running of our hospital and ensuring the very best care is provided to our patients. You will work with both the day and night teams to provide continuity of care to all in patients.
Duties will include (but not limited to):
- Cleaning, disinfection and preparation of patient accommodation.
- Actively maintain the hospital and follow infection control procedures. This will include sterilising and deep cleaning among other duties.
- Assist with reception and client care, including answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries, booking procedures and taking payments.
- Assist Veterinary Surgeons, Veterinary Nurses, and support staff where and when required.
- Work and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. Demonstrate the ability to be reliable, adaptable, understanding and empathetic.
