Company Description

The 4-star Mercure Manchester Norton Grange Hotel and Spa is set in tranquil countryside and its own landscaped grounds. Situated 8 miles from the City Centre, this Manchester hotel has 81 contemporary guest rooms, each with wireless internet and satellite TV. The dining options include the elegant newly Refurbished Pickwick Bar and Restaurant. The hotel has a spa facility, with an indoor heated pool, fitness room, and massage treatments. The function rooms welcome up to 200 guests.

Job Description

Responsible To - Revenue Manager/Conference Manager

Job Purpose - Breaking down & setting up as per the function sheets for the next day. Night audit reports as required by the hotel.

Controlling the security of stocks, cash, other consumables, and equipment in the bar area and ensuring strict compliance with licensing laws and operating procedures.

Commitment To Quality - Every member of staff is expected to ensure that the hotel guest's comfort, satisfaction, and well-being, is catered for in a friendly, helpful, efficient, and personalised manner at all times.

Responsibilities

  • To have a full and up-to-date knowledge of hotel products and services.
  • To deliver prompt, friendly, and efficient service at the bar which accurately meets customers' needs.
  • To maximise selling opportunities by adding customer value at every opportunity.
  • To handle room service orders which accurately meet the customers' needs.
  • To handle complaints promptly and professionally demonstrating genuine care and concern.
  • To comply with company key and float control systems.
  • To report any incidents which are likely to breach regulations governing the conduct of licensed premises to a Superior.
  • To carry out all bar duties in a tidy manner ensuring minimum waste and good stock control.
  • To adhere to Core standards at all times, ensuring 4 Star Standards are met.
  • To maximise selling opportunities by upselling at every opportunity.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the Banqueting areas.
  • To provide and implement service of all food and drink to the required company standard with the relevant pre and post preparation.
  • To handle complaints promptly and professionally demonstrating genuine customer care and concern.
  • Undertake any other duties as requested by management.
  • To comply with all legal requirements in respect of health, safety, and welfare of all members of staff and customers.

All staff of the company are required to make themselves available for training and communication meetings, for which advance notice will normally be given.

All staff must attend fire training as required by law to be familiar with the departmental responsibilities.

To carry out the necessary night audit reports required.
