Night Porter – The Bedford Hotel Belfast

The Bedford Hotel Belfast is seeking an experienced Night Porter to join its exceptional team. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of Belfast’s newly opened boutique hotels.


Who We Are

The Bedford Hotel Belfast is a prestigious boutique hotel located within the iconic Scottish Mutual Building in the heart of Belfast. With:

  • 82 beautifully appointed bedrooms
  • A destination restaurant
  • Café/bar and exclusive private dining rooms

The Bedford Hotel Belfast, supported by Focus Hotels Management, sets new standards for luxury hospitality in Northern Ireland.


Role Responsibilities

As Night Porter, you will assist the manager in overnight operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the hotel’s security.

Key tasks include:

  • Supporting all night operations with seamless handover communication between day and night teams
  • Maintaining high standards independently while collaborating efficiently as part of the team
  • Providing warm, professional assistance with check-ins, check-outs, and late-night enquiries
  • Ensuring guest, staff, and property safety through security checks and adherence to protocols
  • Supporting night audit procedures, cash handling, and administrative duties where requested
  • Ensuring compliance with H&S regulations
  • Preparing the hotel for the next day’s operations and completing any necessary tasks
  • Supporting the manager in handling incidents or emergencies with composure and adherence to company policy
  • Assisting overnight food and beverage (F&B) service when needed
  • Performing cleaning duties and preparing meeting/dining spaces as required

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a night hospitality role is desirable but not essential
  • A high standard of customer service with a focus on guest satisfaction
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Self-reliant, reliable, and proactive, with the initiative to take ownership
  • Availability to work night shifts across weekdays and weekends (typical: 23:00–07:30)
