The Role
Our new Night Production Manager will take ownership of site-wide night shift operations, leading cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional performance across safety, quality, service and cost. This is a highly visible leadership role within a complex FMCG manufacturing environment, focused on driving operational excellence, building strong teams and ensuring consistently high standards across production.
Working closely with the wider senior leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping operational strategy, embedding continuous improvement initiatives and creating a positive, accountable culture on shift. This opportunity would suit an experienced Production Manager, Operations Manager or Manufacturing Manager with strong food manufacturing experience and a hands-on leadership style.
This role is based in Haverhill at our pork production facility.
Your Key Responsibilities
The Night Production Manager will be responsible for leading a large-scale night operation across manufacturing, packing and supply chain functions, ensuring operational targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, hygiene and quality.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Leading all cross-functional night shift operations across production and supply chain areas
- Driving a strong safety-first culture and ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety and environmental legislation
- Developing and implementing operational strategies to maximise manufacturing efficiency and performance
- Monitoring operational KPIs and financial controls to ensure delivery against budget and site targets
- Embedding continuous improvement principles across the operation using Lean, GMP and manufacturing best practice methodologies
- Leading cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects aligned to wider manufacturing strategy
- Ensuring product quality, hygiene and customer standards are consistently achieved across all operational areas
- Managing departmental budgets and contributing to overall site performance and operational planning
- Building strong working relationships across Technical, Engineering, Supply Chain and Senior Leadership teams
- Coaching, developing and motivating operational teams to deliver high levels of engagement and performance

The Ideal Candidate
You will be an experienced manufacturing leader with a strong background in fast-paced FMCG or food production environments, ideally within a unionised setting.
You Will Also Bring
- Experience leading large operational teams within food manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of production, packing and wider supply chain operations
- Experience working within high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience supplying major retail customers
- Strong understanding of GMP, food safety and quality standards
- Confident leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate teams
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
- Good IT and systems knowledge
- Degree qualification in Food Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience within meat processing, slicing or packing operations would be advantageous
