Supermarket Assistant – Temporary Role

About the Role

As a Supermarket Assistant, you'll help us deliver an outstanding Partner-led service that sets us apart from competitors by ensuring every customer visit is memorable. With our passion for food and dedication to exceptional service, we guarantee customers will return— earning their loyalty for a lifetime.

Key highlights:

  • Night Premium Pay: If you work between 22:00–06:00, you’ll receive an additional £3.75 per hour (applies to all Partners on Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements).
  • Above Minimum Wage: From the start, you’ll earn £13.00/hour, rising to £13.25/hour after just 90 days.
  • Temporary Role: Now available for up to 12 hours per week, part-time across seven days, including weekends (3:00 AM–7:00 AM shifts).

Key Responsibilities

You'll play a vital role in keeping our store running smoothly while delivering memorable customer experiences.

  • Stock replenishment – Keep shelves fully stocked and products easily accessible for customers.
  • Online order fulfilment – Prepare grocery deliveries for our customers, ensuring orders are packed and ready for dispatch.
  • Product due diligence – Minimise waste by applying appropriate sell-by date markdowns and reducing food loss.
  • Customer service support – Assist Checkout teams, manage Click & Collect orders, and execute on-demand customer orders as needed.
  • Maintaining a safe & tidy environment – Involves light shopkeeping duties to uphold a clean and productive workspace.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong communication skills to work seamlessly as part of our team.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with customers and colleagues.

Desirable (a plus!)

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role or hospitality environment.
  • An enthusiasm for food and drink trends, with up-to-date knowledge of the industry.
  • A flexible approach, ensuring you can support across different shifts and duties.
