Night Shift Addiction Rehab Support Worker

Addiction Rehab Support Worker – Townend House, Symington

About Us

Our residential rehab facility in Symington, Ayrshire, accommodates up to 23 residents and places a strong emphasis on a person-centred approach to recovery. We are dedicated to safeguarding and empowering vulnerable adults.

We deliver a comprehensive group work programme, including psychoeducation, therapeutic groups, and 12-step fellowship support. Our approach fosters self-awareness, coping strategies, and peer networks to help individuals rebuild their lives with purpose and confidence.

The Role

As an Addiction Rehab Support Worker, you will help individuals on their recovery journey through practical and therapeutic support. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you’ll assist residents toward long-term wellbeing, skill development, and community integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support tailored to individual needs
  • Assist in facilitating group sessions, including psychoeducation
  • Encourage engagement in 12-step fellowship and recovery groups
  • Support residents with daily living, health, and social wellbeing
  • Collaborate with counsellors, healthcare professionals, and social workers
  • Maintain confidential records in line with organisational policies
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment

About You

Essential Criteria

  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults or individuals affected by addiction, homelessness, or mental health challenges
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Availability for night shifts (weekdays and weekends) with occasional day support required
  • Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles

Desirable (a plus!)

  • Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or committing to registration
  • SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or willing to undertake)
  • Knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and recovery-focused models
  • Familiarity with the 12-step approach or recovery-based frameworks
