NIGHT SHIFT ELECTRICIAN

Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM

Department: Maintenance

Location: Pinnacle Plant - Millsboro, Delaware


JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Night Shift Electrician to support production and maintenance operations in a fast-paced poultry/industrial manufacturing environment at the Pinnacle Plant in Millsboro, Delaware. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations during night shift production.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on production and processing equipment, conveyors, packaging systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, VFDs, control panels, sensors, relays, and safety devices.
  • Diagnose electrical faults using meters, schematics, and control drawings.
  • Support startup, changeovers, and line recovery to minimize downtime.
  • Work with PLC-controlled equipment; assist with basic troubleshooting of I/O and control circuits.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety standards including OSHA, LOTO, GMP, and food safety requirements.
  • Document work orders, repairs, and PM activities accurately and timely.
  • Communicate with maintenance supervisors, mechanics, and production leadership regarding equipment status and repair needs.
  • Assist with installations, upgrades, and capital projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5 years of electrical maintenance experience in a poultry, food processing, or industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems including:

    • Motors and motor controls
    • VFDs
    • Sensors and safety circuits
    • Control panels and wiring
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.

  • Experience working in wet, cold, and production environments typical of poultry processing.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently on night shift with minimal supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley or similar).
  • Experience with poultry processing equipment such as Baader, Foodmate, Marel, Meyn, and related conveyors and packaging systems.
  • Electrical certification, technical degree, or apprenticeship completion.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and PM programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in elevated or confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in cold, wet, and noisy environments.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production and maintenance needs.
