We are seeking a skilled and proactive Night Shift Facilities Engineer to join our team at CMS London.
About The Role
As the Night Shift Facilities Engineer you will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance and minor refurbishment works across our corporate legal headquarters. Your work will ensure that our spaces remain functional, professional, and ready to support a 5-star workplace experience for staff and clients.
In this role, you can expect to get involved in a variety of work including:
- Respond promptly to Facilities Helpdesk requests, providing clear and professional updates
- Maintain accurate records of workplace activities
- Respond to urgent repair requests during the night shift (e.g., leaks, broken fixtures, damaged furniture)
- Conduct routine inspections, identify building defects and partake in an emergency callout rota as required
- Adherence to Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices
- Uphold the firm’s Health and Safety standards and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
- Assist with internal office moves, including the safe relocation of furniture, IT equipment and confidential materials
- Set up and reconfigure meeting rooms, event spaces and collaboration areas in line with booking requirements
- Maintain storage areas in an organised, safe and accessible condition
- Provide general porterage and logistical support for corporate events, office reconfigurations and ad hoc requests
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure works are delivered efficiently and with minimal disruption
- Support the delivery of a 5-star workplace experience for staff and clients
- To always represent the Facilities team with professionalism and discretion
- To complete minor repairs such as fixing locks and adjusting meeting room doors
- Ensure all finishes are in good condition to maintain a professional corporate environment

About You

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across all levels
- Good practical aptitude, matched with enthusiasm and a desire to solve problems
- Committed to delivering high standards of service and operational excellence
- Customer-focused, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Practical skills in painting, decorating, carpentry, and carpet tile fitting or replacement
- A basic understanding of all Microsoft applications
- Ability to work on their own initiative with a proactive ‘can do’ attitude
- Well organised, able to plan and prioritise work, with strong attention to detail
- The ability to listen, question and interpret information to understand requirements
- Problem solving skills and the ability to suggest and deliver creative/innovative solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to liaise professionally with Partners, fee earners, clients and other senior stakeholders
- Able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Flexibility to support outside of your normal working hours if required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in building services and facilities maintenance, with a solid understanding of corporate environments
- Experience working in client-facing environments
