Description

Enva is a leading provider of recycling and resource recovery solutions, helping businesses and communities across the UK manage their waste responsibly.

We're looking for a proactive and experienced Night Shift Supervisor to lead our overnight operations within our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). You'll be responsible for supervising a team of operatives, ensuring the safe and efficient processing of recyclable materials, and maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, and compliance throughout the night shift.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee plant operations, coordinate daily activities, and work closely with maintenance and management teams to ensure production targets are achieved while promoting a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of operatives, allocating work and providing coaching and support throughout the shift.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture by carrying out safety briefings, ensuring correct PPE is worn, and identifying and reporting hazards.
  • Monitor the performance of plant and equipment, coordinating with the maintenance team to minimise downtime and resolve operational issues.
  • Oversee the sorting and processing of recyclable materials, ensuring output quality meets required standards and contamination is minimised.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the facility to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Record shift performance, production figures, incidents, and equipment issues, providing clear handovers to the day shift.
  • Monitor productivity and recovery rates, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and team performance.
  • Ensure all company policies, environmental requirements, and operational procedures are followed at all times.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
