Our Night Chefs

Our Night Chefs are an integral part of our award-winning production kitchen. They ensure that our world-class food halls and deli counters are stocked with mesmerizing products ready for our customers to enjoy every day. We are now looking for a Sous Chef to manage our Night Production Kitchen team.

About the Role

As a Sous Chef, you'll be responsible for the day to day operations of your brigade. By leading your team and assisting the Production Manager in all managerial duties, you’ll be responsible for setting daily production levels, monitoring all goods received from internal and external vendors and production, ensuring that quality standards are met. You’ll manage the day-to-day administration and production ensuring compliance to internal systems including SAP.

In this role, you’ll also be responsible for effective storage, ordering food stock and planning production levels to minimise wastage and ensure that stock checks are completed in a timely manner. By adhering to all Health & Safety regulations and procedures, you’ll set a high standard of food safety in the daily operations.

This role is fully on site, working 5 out of the 7 days a week.

About You

You’ll need to be a night owl who thrives on working during the midnight hours from 9pm until 6am. You’ll have a strong track record of large-scale catering experience, ideally within a production kitchen environment. Having a great knowledge and passion for food and drink is essential. You’ll have great time-management skills and a strong customer focus when dealing with both internal and external parties.

You’ll have exceptional interpersonal skills and a good attention to detail, which will be evident through paperwork completed, organisation of department and sufficient stock levels. By coaching, inspiring and motivating the team, you’ll be able to demonstrate effective leadership and management skills. Reporting to the Head Chef and Production Managers, you’ll build effective relationships with support functions including Food Halls, Restaurants, Food Safety, Distribution and HR. Having good PC literacy is a must (Word, Excel and preferably SAP).

  • Competitive hourly salary up to £22ph (this is made up of a generous base salary plus service charge)* + additional weekly night shift allowance
  • Night shifts only from 9pm-6am, with paid additional working hours at an overtime rate of x1.5 p/h
  • 33 days’ annual leave + birthday off (including Bank holidays)
