Team Leader Contract

£15.00 per hour Contracted to full-time or part-time hours per week Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)


About the Role

We are seeking a Team Leader for our brand-new, purpose-built care home located in the picturesque seaside town of Largs. This role will focus on the delivery of luxury living with exceptional residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care for up to 80 residents.

The Team Leader will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day leadership and delivery of care within the home. Your responsibility will be to ensure that residents receive safe, high-quality, and person-centred support, always maintaining a strong standard of practice aligned with regulatory guidelines.

Your duties will include:

  • Leading shifts, supervising and supporting care staff.
  • Coordination of care delivery, including care planning, medication administration, documentation, and risk management.
  • Ensuring that staff adhere to best practice standards and organisational requirements.
  • Act as a role model to enhance working practices, support staff development, and foster a culture of respect, dignity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Contributing to audits, reviews, and maintenance of a high-performing and well-run service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team to deliver exceptional person-centred care to residents.
  • Oversee care planning, medication management, and documentation to ensure best practice across all shifts.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and organisational policies.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
  • Play an active role in audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and staff development.
  • Work closely with the management and nursing team, collaborating to drive and maintain high standards of care.

Requirements & Skills

  • SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Medication administration training with competency verification
  • Proven experience leading or supporting a care team
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A caring, compassionate, and professional approach
  • Commitment to maintaining best practice in all aspects of care delivery
