Nights Transport Supervisor
Uniserve is seeking a Nights Transport Supervisor to oversee and manage all night transport operations at the Warrington site, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of customer requirements while maintaining high operational standards and cost control.
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour night shifts
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Manage and coordinate all night transport activities, including vehicle routing, driver allocation, and workload planning
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed in line with customer requirements and SLA’s
- Monitor live operations and react proactively to issues, delays, or service risks
Driver Management
- Act as the first point of contact for drivers on shift
- Brief and debrief drivers effectively, ensuring clear communication of expectations
- Monitor driver performance, conduct, and compliance during shift
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure full compliance with:
- Driver hours regulations
- Tachograph rules
- Company safety procedures
- Promote a strong safety-first culture at all times
- Ensure defect reporting and vehicle compliance processes are followed

- Allocate work
- Track job progress
- Ensure accurate data capture
- Maintain accurate shift records, incident logs, and reports
Customer Service
- Maintain communication with customers where required
- Ensure service delivery meets agreed expectations
- Escalate service risks promptly and professionally
Continuous Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements
- Support cost reduction initiatives (fleet utilisation, empty running reduction, etc.)
- Contribute to operational performance reviews
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a transport / logistics environment (essential)
- Experience in a supervisory or planning role (preferred)
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of Driver hours and transport legislation
- Fleet operations
- Good IT skills (transport systems experience beneficial)
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Proactive and solutions-focused
- Calm under pressure (critical in night operations)
- Strong ownership and accountability
- Clear and professional communicator
