The Opportunity
Join our team as a Mechanical Fitter on the night shift at Bardon Hill Quarry, our flagship site for Holcim UK. This is a full-time, permanent role that offers you a unique opportunity to bring your mechanical expertise to a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Working on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern 18:00 - 06:00, you’ll be essential in keeping our plant running smoothly and supporting continuous improvement. If you're ready for a role where each shift brings fresh challenges and impact, this could be the perfect opportunity.
- Perform essential maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure all work aligns with safety standards and contributes to a safe working environment.
- Identify potential issues early, helping to prevent unplanned downtime during production during the day shift.
- Carry out routine assessments to ensure machinery and structures remain reliable.
- Focus on continuous improvement, driving efficiency and performance across the site.
- Collaborate with the team to maximize resource use and ensure smooth, 24/7 operations.

Who you are
- You’re a hands-on mechanical professional with experience in an industrial setting, ready to make a positive impact on our team.
- You have solid mechanical maintenance skills, ideally with experience in quarry or heavy manufacturing settings but isn't essential.
- Have a minimum of a level 3 NVQ in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Safety is your top priority, and you’re committed to following all necessary protocols
- You’re comfortable working independently and know how to collaborate well with others
- You can solve problems quickly, minimising equipment downtime
- You pay close attention to detail, carrying out inspections and maintenance tasks with care
- You’re adaptable and motivated, ready to thrive on a rotating night shift.
