Nights Residential Child Care Worker

Location Central Lancashire – Covering homes in Preston, Chorley, Skelmersdale, and surrounding areas.


Salary £28,142 – £32,061 per annum (Full-time, 37 hours per week)

Notes:

  • Enhanced pay rates apply for night and weekend work:
    • 25% uplift for hours worked between 11pm–8am (subject to a start time before 6am; excludes shift workers).
    • Weekend work may attract up to 33% additional pay when integrated into the contractual working week.

Key Point: Please note this role may require work at additional homes in the Central Lancashire region.


About Our Children’s Residential Service

Our Children’s Residential Service is expanding due to the opening of a new home, creating exciting opportunities.

  • We aim to provide positive, meaningful, and lifelong relationships for children in our care.
  • Emphasis on creative, fun indoor/outdoor activities to support holistic development.
  • Children may have experienced adverse childhood events or trauma and require 1:1 support addressing emotions, behaviours, and needs.

What’s Expected of You (Role Responsibilities)

Night staff are critical in ensuring:

  • The home remains secure overnight.
  • Children receive support when young people wake—offering a reassuring and responsive presence.
  • Services are coordinated with social workers, schools, police, and health professionals.
