Love food in a bustling working environment and prefer to work overnight? Then you belong in one of our Local convenience stores. Our Nightshift Trading Assistants work in a fast-paced environment covering all aspects of the store.
In this role, you’ll be replenishing stock, checking dates across our fresh produce and grocery products as well as helping unload deliveries and serving customers on tills when the store is open. It’s important you are comfortable being on your feet, working at pace and using technology as part of our role. Whilst you will be part of a close-knit team, we’ll also trust you to work alone and use your initiative.
Whichever area you’re working in, you’ll take pride in doing the right thing for our customers and have a keen attention to detail. You’ll likely have less customer interaction than your daytime colleagues, but you’ll still be tuned into making sure we offer a brilliant shopping experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
